Old-Time Radio Show

 

 

A Tribute to Old-Time Radio Broadcasts 

 

Pontiac Bay will present an old-time radio show featuring classic Big Band and period music performed by Pontiac Bay Orchestra, guest actors performing classic old-time radio episodes, and a guest vocalist singing popular songs of the day! Guest actors include Larry Albert from Jim French Imagination Theatre, Dave Selvig and Susan Connors, and vocalist and actor Cliff Watson.

 

 


 

 

Lauren Anderson's varied career includes conductor, educator, and performer. As an educator, he taught in the Shoreline and Mercer Island public schools, taught trumpet at Seattle Pacific University for 14 years, taught trumpet at Western Washington University for 11 years, and directed bands and brass ensembles at the Alaska Fine Arts Institute. Since 1998, he has  conducted the Seattle Symphonic Band at North Seattle Community College, and currently has a private teaching and coaching studio in Seattle.

A music graduate of the University of Washington, he studied conducting with Stanley Chapple, Vilem Sokol, and Walter Welke. During his career, he has been the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Everett Opera for three years. And, as founding conductor of the Pacific Chamber Orchestra, toured professionally in California, Oregon, and Washington. 

As a musician, Anderson often performs with the major local music organizations such as the Seattle Opera, the Seattle Symphony, the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, and the Paramount and 5th Avenue theatres. In addition, he is regularly engaged to perform in recitals with a wide range of local, performing arts groups.
